In Norwegian, there are TWO editions
If you are not in the US, please go to your local Amazon and search for the title, author or ISBN number.
The reason for the variation in price for the three books, is mainly the printing cost. Premium Ink gives better photo quality than Standard Ink, but it is much more expensive. I receive almost the same royalty for a hardcover book and for an E-book!
Currently, Amazon Australia only lists the E-book version of my new book. Amazon has decided to only offer Premium Ink for Paperbacks, and no Hardcover books. I can't change to Premium Ink without doing it for all the world. And that will be too expensive for the readers, about 80% more. If you’d like a paperback or hardcover, please order through Amazon.com (US site) or another Amazon marketplace (UK, Germany, etc.). Shipping times are reasonable, and the book will still reach you.
Please leave a short review on Amazon if you like the book!
Here is the synopsis for the book:
One runner. 45 New York City Marathons. Countless lives changed.
From the cannon blast on Staten Island to the cheers in Central Park, Norwegian marathoner Runar Gundersen has spent four decades turning the NYC Marathon into friendships and miles into memories. These are his inspirational stories of grit, travel, and a running community unlike any other.
For over four decades, Norwegian marathoner Runar B. Gundersen has crossed the Verrazzano Bridge on race day, joined by strangers who became family and a city that became his second home. In The Man Who Ran New York, he shares the people, places, and moments he collected from 45 consecutive New York City Marathons — a journey that spans continents, cultures, and countless miles of friendship.
These are not just race recaps; they’re stories of personal triumph, chance encounters, and life-changing adventures that prove running can unite the world. Travel with Runar from the streets of Manhattan to various trips abroad, meeting both legendary athletes and everyday runners who left a mark on his heart.
Whether you’re a seasoned runner, an armchair traveler, or someone searching for your next burst of inspiration, this book is a celebration of the running community, and a reminder to all of us that the human spirit can go the distance.
