Firstly congratulations on the achievements to run so many NYC marathons, and beyond that, sharing so much detail and knowledge with the rest of people who come across your website. My wife and I will be running our first NYC this year, she had a non-NYRR time qualification and I am in the lottery but have also purchased a tour guaranteed entry to ensure I don't miss the chance to run this fantastic race together. As someone who appreciates the planning and details of a trip, your information is fantastic to help plan and prepare for the race as well as be able to enjoy a few days after the race in our first trip to NYC.

Thanks so much for all this information! I have been studying it religiously since I got selected for this years running!

I couldn't send you an email so I'll post my only question here. I am wave 4 based on my 2015 NYM run time (5:40). But I'm targeting <4 hours for this year. Since there is no way to move up in waves, will I just be dodging people for a while as I try to hit that target?

Admin reply: You will be able to run at your own speed after the first mile, maybe before that, depending on your corral.
