Your information about the NYC Marathon is great. Concise and all helpful. I like your advice about what to do while waiting to start before the corrals. That's stuff you would not think about. This is my first NYC Marathon. I did the NYC half in March and the cold really got to me before starting so any advice on how to stay warm and dry before starting is invaluable.
My first attempt at a marathon was in February this year in Miami and I got caught up in the excitement and did the Zig Zag thing to pass people and I ended up with an IT Band injury and had to stop after 15 miles. Your very right in advising to resist the temptation to do that. I'll look out for you in November.

I just registered for my 1st NYC (and 1st ever) marathon this morning...i went in the lottery in 2011-2013.
I am sure I will be revisiting your site many times over the next 7 1/2 months.
